We headed over to the Eco Lavish Fashion Show at Herban Feast in Sodo Park on Thursday. It's a gorgeous venue with warm, soft lighting and a very open airy atmosphere. In other words the perfect place for a fashion show (or a beautiful wedding for certain). It was a fun night of fashion with several designers all interested in environmentally friendly products and materials such as Revival Ink and Vian Hunter House of Fashion. We captured a few of the highlights from this swanky evening of fashion.

Tomorrow 19 talented student designers will premier their 7-10 piece collection in front of an expected mass of 1,600 people. In between students stacking boxes and jumping over each other in event-mode frenzy, Kelly told us how this mass-production works:
Our show has a lot of energy and it’s fun. Students work really hard to produce the show but also they have to work their collection into seven themes. Three for fall and four themes for spring: bohemian, mystical, Savannah adventure, glitter, glam and pop, deconstruction, twisted effects (think gothic, Tim Burton style, netting, etc) and film noir,”.
Can't Miss It: Wednesday
METEOR SHOWERS: Well, the Perseids are back and they've brought their cosmic trash with them to dump in the fire barrel that is our atmosphere. This morning and tomorrow morning is supposed to be prime-viewing-time, but if you miss it, there's more where that came from the next few days. Look for clear skies to the east (always with the negative waves, CHS?), stay up late, and maybe make a run out to Camano Island, Rattlesnake Ridge, Tiger Mountain, or Snoqualmie Pass, where light pollution won't get in your eyes. Failing that, it's on YouTube.

FASHION HIGHLIGHTS: Seattle Central Community College's Apparel Design program will be featuring their final line and portfolio show, The Shape of Things, throughout the day at the SCCC campus. The show will also include work by students Becky Sullivan and Maria E. Canada, both of whom had recent big wins in the Seattle fashion world. Canada took second place at the 2009 Project Red Dress fashion show, and Sullivan took home first place for both the Seattle Fashion Week Design Competition and the Seamless in Seattle Best Everyday Collection. We definitely recommend checking out Sullivan's collection, as there are some excellent pieces--we have no doubt that we'll be hearing more about her in the future.

"Rescue Fido" Fashion Show this Weekend
Seattlest is broadening our horizons--to the runways. Not Boeing, couture. Yes, we're taking a good long look at Seattle's fashion community. No, we do have one. Srsly. And Cameron Levin is going to write about the goings-on for us. Here's her inaugural post, which as it happens is about one of the more unusual fashion events in Seattle.
It Takes a Value Village Fashion Show
The Second Annual Value Village Fashion Show is pouring a 50-gallon drum of gasoline on the fires of costumery this weekend, so don't think that you're finished with dress-up for the season after you trudge home commando in your gorilla suit Sunday morning. You still have to get to the Rendezvous Sunday evening for this show.
