Ulrich Schnauss. We just like saying his name--in as thick a German accent as possible. The electro übermensch released his third album, Goodbye, this summer. But Goodbye is not so much the end for Schnauss as the completion of his musical trilogy, which began with the acclaimed Far Away Trains Passing By and A Strangely Isolated Place. Schnauss' ambient sound has evolved over time to include an increasing number of rock elements, and Goodbye, with its edgy use of guitar and prominent vocals, falls squarely in shoegaze territory. more ›
