Saturday afternoon, Top Pot's 5th Ave location filled up as people arrived to watch their 3rd Annual Doughnut Eating Contest, sponsored by Light in the Attic Records and KEXP. MOVIES: The Grand Illusion is not only showing "It's a Wonderful LIfe" tonight, but it's also providing an opportunity to crash the Illusion's holiday party for the staff and friends. "Food, drink, merriment and presents," will be on hand and the 8pm screening is free.
The self-proclaimed “Mexican Elvis” -- El Vez -- is making yet another Seattle appearance this weekend, this time starring in the much-anticipated script reading of Vanpool. Señor Vez plays Alex Torres, a Seattle corporate drone who unexpectedly finds both personal and professional support in the diamond lane. Stranger scribe Nate Lippens and Von Piglet Sister Angie Louise are among the local talent playing his co-commuters.
