Duff McKagan's group Loaded opened up the night for an epic night of music at the Key Arena last Friday. Then the headliner, Guns and Roses, finished out the night with what had to be one of the best rock shows of the year. Alex dropped us a few bits of photographic evidence from that night we think you'll want to see.

BROTHERLY LOVE: The Felice Brothers are a few years separated from the subway stations of NYC, but it's been all upward since they first emerged from the underground. The folk/country group from upstate NY has toured with Bright Eyes, Justin Townes Earle, and opened for DMB. Now signed with Fat Possum, the group released the evolved Celebration, Florida this year. They perform as part of the City Arts Festival. Also on the bill are Seattle singer/songwriter Shelby Earl and the ever impressive Grabriel Mintz.
This Week in Lit: Terrorists in Love, Bleached Hair, and Jeffrey Eugenides
There's so much going on this week! Get excited--then put your scarf on and stop by some of the lit events in Seattle this week...
STG Presents Hootenanny for a Healthy Gulf
We don’t know about you, but personally, we at Seattlest love a good hootenanny. We also love cool people and charitable causes. If you share our affinity for things that don’t suck, roll up to the Moore Theatre this Thursday as Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents Hootenanny for a Healthy Gulf.

TIME WARP: Third Eye Cinema and the Northwest Film Forum present Time Machine, with Bill Brown and Sabine Gruffat. The two will be traveling through the past, present, and future via spoken word, video performance, 35mm slides, and good old scratchy records. Discover Real-Time rendering, Quartz, and Max patches as Gruffat steers you through the strange world of digital and analog hyperspace. If your girlfriend or wife has been on you to go see The Time Traveler's Wife, this may be a good distraction...the book is always better anyway.
Bison Involved in Skiffle in West Seattle
Seattlest is late to the party (as usual) on this supercool event—“Skiffle” has already been scooped by WSB and other blogs—but in case you haven’t heard: Bison, a (presumably) rocking group formed by members of Pearl Jam (Mike McCready), PUSA (Dave Dederer), Velvet Revolver (Duff McKagan), the Dusty 45’s, and “artists and students from Arts Corps, Rock School and the Service Board” are playing a benefit show at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. (Whew) Tonight. The event, which also features visual arts, a guitar-and-canvas-“masterpiece” auction, and music from the Boogilistics, Camille Bloom & Recovery, and Scribes, benefits the Arts Center itself. A $25 donation gets you in. (Proceeds keep cool after-school programs afloat.) Ditch your "But it's West Seattle" gripe. Go. Listen. Enjoy.
