Tonight in Denver, Barack Obama will make history by becoming the first man in over three and a half years to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for President. Here is everything you need to know about tonight.
THAT'S FUNNY, BITCHES: Chris Rock is one of those people who can just stand there and we'll laugh. But when he opens his mouth, forget it. We kind of laugh so hard we can't even hear what he's saying half the time, cycling through our various laughs from chuckle to cackle and snort. So you're probably glad we won't be at the Paramount tonight for his show. We'd just distract everything, and he'd probably make fun of us. Which would be funny.
Tuesday was Hillary Clinton Day at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. The Senator and former Presidential candidate gave a rousing speech that most pundits agreed accomplished what she had promised to do: leave no doubt that she is fully behind the candidacy of her former rival, Sen. Barack Obama.
Courtesy of local politics blogger extraordinaire Goldy at HorsesAss comes a YouTube video of the Washington delegates at the DNC when Michelle Obama takes the stage. We knew we weren't the only person who got teary or swelled up with pride during the speech, and it looks like Governor Gregoire was excited from the get-go...listen to that hooting and hollering!
Between the nonstop DNC coverage and last night’s episode of The Hills, we came to a striking conclusion: Bill and Hillary are the Spencer and Heidi of the Democratic Party. See for yourself:
One day down and three more to go here in Denver at the Democratic National Convention. Below are some of the top moments of Day 1 for DCist (and a couple lowlights for good measure).

For bloggers attending the Democratic convention at the Pepsi Center in Denver, two types of credentials are offered. The first is a national credential, which offers the same access granted to members of traditional news media organizations.Continue reading "What the DNC State Blogger Corps Really Gets You"
The Pepsi Center is located only a little over a mile away from the center of downtown Denver, but for credentialed delegates and media, getting inside the facility is a process that takes about one hour.
Those who can't wait for Husky basketball season, so they can heckle Oregon State, might want to tune in to tonight’s Democratic Convention. The Beaver’s new men’s basketball coach, Craig Robinson, will be taking the stage to address those gathered in Denver.
Don't get us wrong. We like the Olympics, even though we're a lady. We enjoy watching sports. We loved seeing Sue Bird smack Lauren Jackson down on Saturday. That was hott. Jackson played her unfortunate ankle off (we'll miss her for the rest of the season!), but the rest of her team just didn't deliver. The U.S. team was too in charge of the court—whether playing defense or offense—and wound up winning by almost 30 points. BAM!
From the Editor: As this week unfolds, we'll be incluidng posts from our pal at DCist, Sommer Mathis, who is in Denver for the Democratic National Convention. Enjoy!
SEATTLEST BOOK CLUB PICK: For March, we're reading Jonathan Raban's Surveillance, set in a not-so-distant future, when everyone's actions are highly monitored. Get a head start on the conversation by hearing from Raban himself. (We'll know if you went or not.)
