When David Sedaris comes to town, it's a big deal, cause it only happens about once a year. Tickets for the single-evening event at Benaroya Hall, presented by NWAA and The Stranger, went on sale last month, and it would behoove you to get a move on and grab some (before everyone else does).

SEXY NUTCRACKER: Wow, saying those two words together kind of makes us feel like we're playing Apples to Apples, but in this case there is such a thing as a sexy nutcracker and it's going to be gone after Wednesday, so instead of doing last minute shopping, get down with some last minute burlesque watching! Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker is finishing up its fourth year featuring some of Seattle's favorite burlesque dancers such as Lily Verlaine, Jasper McCann, Kitten LaRue, Miss Indigo Blue, and the much-loved Aerialistas. Tickets are no longer being sold online but can be bought at the door, so we'd recommend getting there early--this show has been previously sold out on many occasions.

NOT NOW, ARCTIC PUFFIN: Jon Favreau's 2003 charming movie Elf has become a holiday staple for a lot of us. Get off your couch and watch the lovely holiday feel-gooder with your fellow Seattleites. Bob Newhart!!

Literary favorite David Sedaris will be in Seattle for a show at Benaroya Hall on May 9, and tickets go on sale today! Though many are familiar with Sedaris' much-loved short story collections such as Barrel Fever, Me Talk Pretty One Day, and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, the chances to see him live and in person do not happen often, so take the chance while you have it! If you've been a longtime fan, now is the time.
Augusten Burroughs, Tonight at Town Hall
Depending on your perspective, Augusten Burroughs is either one of the funniest people in America, or he's a terrible writer who should Frey like James.
