Seattlest photographer Zach Luellen's mom, Cheryl, continues her review of the area's other gigantic music festival, the DMB Caravan.

Seattlest's music team had their hands full with Bumbershoot last year, so we brought in a pinch-hitter to cover the weekend's other mammoth musical event-- the Dave Matthews Band Caravan. This post and these photos come to you courtesy of Dave fan and master photographer Cheryl Luellen, who is not only a most excellent guest writer--she's also writer Zach's mother. Because, you know, we like to keep it in the family.
PREVIEW: Dave Matthews Band Caravan this weekend!
This weekend the DMB Caravan arrives at The Gorge at George, Washington for a three day extravaganza. The weekend is full of a great variety of bands including Lemolo, Blind Pilot, The Roots, Devotchka, Tim Reynolds and the Dave Matthews Band. Great music and a great atmosphere for those who would like to get out of town this three day weekend. The weather is going to be beautiful and you just can’t go wrong with spending Labor Day weekend with Dave Matthews Band and friends.
Welcome to Our Personal Hellscape
Tickets to three days of Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge over Labor Day weekend go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. Don't know about you, but we can think of nothing worse (non-Burning Man-related) than spending three days camping at the Gorge with Dave Matthews' douchetard fanbase. (Brief aside: What's worse, DMB itself or DMB fans?) Ok, it would be worse if John Mayer and Jason Mraz were opening, but instead it's slightly better with openers G. Love & Special Sauce and Yonder Mountain String Band. Tickets for Friday, September 4th through Sunday, September 6th are $48.50 and $70.00 (plus all those service charges and fees) and go on sale Friday, March 13th via LiveNation and Ticketmaster.
Can't Miss It: Tuesday
BEST LOCAL SHOW EVER: Okay, maybe that's too strong a statement. There are people who would argue otherwise, but Seattlest is pretty thrilled with all the bands on the bill tonight at the Tractor. It's a big ol' acousti-pop night in Ballard with Grand Hallway, Kate Tucker, Odessa Chen, and Husbands Love Your Wives. Yeah, we know. Hot action. Maybe it's not as killer as a Pearl Jam-Dave Matthews-Death Cab-Heart show would be, but it's definitely the best in local music tonight.

If you aren't one of the 4 million people going to see Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge, we offer you our congratulations as well as a recommendation to see the newly reunited Dinosaur Jr. at the Showbox. Yes, we know we blogged about it before, but it's Dinosaur Jr.
