We were just walking past the Cornish College of the Arts buildings on Capitol Hill and saw this ragtag group of protesters [UPDATE: not Cornish students, they tell us] out front. They had an informational hand-out, so we didn't stop to ask them for details, but maybe we should have, because we can't make out what exactly it is they're so exercised about. Does this make sense to anyone?
Cornish Students Youth Angrily Protest Something
Can't Miss It: Thursday
DESIGN: Attention parents! Before you pony up the dough to send your little Da Vinci to Cornish, drop in at the Design Faculty Exhibition and see what the faculty at the Design department (Susan Boye, Jeff Brice, Tiffany Laine De Mott, Jon Gierlich, Jacob Kohn, Claudia Meyer-Newman, Julie Myers, Ellen Forney, Julie Gaskill, Hovie Hawk, BeAnne Hull, Marisa Mangum, Dan Shafer, Hal Tangen, Daniel Thornton, and Junichi Tsuneoka) can do. It's due diligence, people, and worth it for no other reason than because Ellen Forney's name is in the middle of that list.
Seattlest Pix: 08Dec14
We were stoked when we got some of this stuff yesterday and last night, and we're due for even more as the week goes on. It was a long time coming, people, but looks like winter is here to stay. We look forward to finally hitting the slopes when we return from our holiday trip. More evidence of our little winter wonderland is available for your perusing pleasure.
Can't Miss It: Wednesday
THE SEARCH FOR ALANIS: Is over. She's appearing at the Paramount Theatre tonight for a show that has to be in part an extended post-election celebration. Honestly, we haven't listened to Flavors of Entanglement yet, but come on, who has? Besides, she never responds to our emails. Join the Alanis faithful and boo that one guy from Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. Van Wilder or something.
Improv that Doesn't Involve Drew Carey
The 15th annual Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation is in full swing, and let's be honest, most of us had no idea. We are not studying dance at Cornish or Velocity, and we're out of the loop.
