GLASNOST: The Cold War Kids bring their bluesy, vaguely Southern-sounding brand of piano-based indie rock to the Showbox/Market tonight. The Cold War Kids first gained notice back in 2006 with their debut LP , dropped last week. Tix for tonight are still available as of this morning.

Right on the heels of the announcement that the Mars Volta was added to the Sasquatch lineup, and right before tickets go on sale this Saturday, the three-day music festival has seen fit to delineate who will be playing on which day:

Last night at Neumo's, the 4th annual KEXP Yule Benefit was chockablock with music. We missed out on local band The Hands and showed up mid-set for Annuals, for whom we saw enough of their Arcade Fire-meets-Neutral Milk Hotel-meets Animal Collective sound to know that we need to see them in their entirety whenever they come to town again.

Having already toured Europe and all over the States, you'd think Cold War Kids were crazy to do it all again and so soon, but what the hell – we're glad they are. We missed their last shows in June and again last month, both at the Crocodile, so to have them back in Seattle again, well, we're the lucky ones.

October is here! That means candy apples, inappropriate costumes, and tons of live music.
