The Moon is a Dead World is at the Annex Theatre Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. through November 15th, but this weekend is Pay What You Can and a great chance to catch it.

Heads Up: Sasquatch Lineup By Day
Right on the heels of the announcement that the Mars Volta was added to the Sasquatch lineup, and right before tickets go on sale this Saturday, the three-day music festival has seen fit to delineate who will be playing on which day:
Heads Up: Sasquatch Lineup Announced
After months of wild speculation, the official 2008 Sasquatch lineup has finally been announced:
We Have Seen the Monster and It Is Us
Er, not quite. There is an actual, physical monster in Cloverfield, and unlike the no-see-em trailer, the film eventually shows it in all its gruesome glory (and no, it ain't Stay Puft). Opening Friday, J.J. Abrams' camcorder monster movie (which some describe as "Godzilla meets the Blair Witch") covers a terrible day for all of Manhattan and, in particular, for a group of New Yorkers throwing a bon voyage party for one of their friends. Ruh-roh!
Get Out
COMICS: Local cartoonist salon Friends of the Nib, founded by Jim Woodring, will create a work of narrative sequential art right before your eyes. You may purchase a copy of said art at the end of the evening.
KEXP Yule Benefit, Day 1
Last night at Neumo's, the 4th annual KEXP Yule Benefit was chockablock with music. We missed out on local band The Hands and showed up mid-set for Annuals, for whom we saw enough of their Arcade Fire-meets-Neutral Milk Hotel-meets Animal Collective sound to know that we need to see them in their entirety whenever they come to town again.
Cold War So Not Over
Having already toured Europe and all over the States, you'd think Cold War Kids were crazy to do it all again and so soon, but what the hell – we're glad they are. We missed their last shows in June and again last month, both at the Crocodile, so to have them back in Seattle again, well, we're the lucky ones.
Aural Pleasures (10/3 - 10/9)
October is here! That means candy apples, inappropriate costumes, and tons of live music.
Aural Pleasures (9/12 - 9/18)
A little something for everyone. Consider next Monday's show the icing on the delicious music-y cake.
Actually, We Often Say “Die”
’80s nostalgia fetishists from around the globe will descend on Astoria, OR this coming weekend, June 3-5, for the Goonies 20th Anniversary Celebration, honoring the epic Cold War classic that according to many film critics encapsulated an era with its subtle yet strained references to the Iran/Contra scandal.
