Welcome Back, Brenda: Gigantic Drill Expected to Emerge from the Earth Today
Five months ago, Brenda embarked on a perilous underground journey from Cal Anderson Park downhill to the Paramount Theater. The purpose? To build the tunnel that will one day house the Capitol Hill light rail line. Now, that journey is almost over; Brenda the Huge Drill (a.k.a., Boring Machine, in more ways than one) is expected to emerge victorious next to the Paramount today, marking one leg of light rail tunnel off the checklist.

Seattle's Fanciest Tweaker Suspected in Shooting
The Seattle Police Department has released a report on a shooting that took place last Sunday night on Boylston and East Olive on Capitol Hill. The report calls the incident a mugging gone wrong- the gunman allegedly stopped a man and a woman walking home down Boylston, brandished his revolver, and demanded their wallet and purse. The man turned, possibly to flee, and the mugger shot him in the abdomen.

Global Contemporary Video Art at Ghost Gallery
Slightly hidden behind a fence and through the courtyard of an apartment building, Ghost Gallery on Capitol Hill is currently hosting an exhibit that is not to be missed. Action: Part 2, A Collection of Global Contemporary Video Art is captivating without being overbearing, busy without feeling crowded. The exhibit was curated by local creative agency Dumb Eyes founder Christian Peterson and funded by 911 Media Arts and with artists from places such as Finland, New York and (of course) Seattle, the term global is covered.

"Some Anarchists" Break In Windows of Broadway Chase Bank
Last night 8 windows of the JP Morgan Chase on Broadway were broken in by a loose collection of anarchist activists ("anywhere from 4-6"), according to Capitol Hill Seattle and a related post on pugetsoundanarchists.org. The vandals were wearing all black with masks over their faces, and left literature at the scene. Police did not elaborate of the nature of said literature.
