Drinking is the best. If your 2010 was like mine, you drank a lot of things. Between unpaid internships (free coffee and free booze is THE ONLY WAY YOU GET PAID) living with the folks for a while (mmm neverending fridge full of beer), finally getting a grownup job (YAY, now I can afford my own drinks, sort of) and writing for such fine publications of Seattlest, one ends up drinking a whole lot of things. KEXP in Capitol Hill All Day Friday
Since Capitol Hill denizens stepped up to the plate and donated the most during the 2008 summer membership drive, KEXP is spending Friday hanging out in the neighborhood. John Richards, Cheryl Waters, and Kevin Cole will all broadcast their shows from Caffe Vita--with live performances aplenty, including The Moondoggies, Say Hi, Mates of State, and Black Kids--while other djs will be taking over the sound systems at Linda's, Grey Gallery, the Cha Cha, Havana, Moe Bar, and the Wild Rose. Plus, there's extra discounts and perks for KEXP members at Capitol Hill establishments. Full details here.

What's Cookin': Dining Out for Life
Need a good excuse to eat out? Mark your calendars: One week from today, April 24, is the 15th annual Dining Out for Life. Hosted by the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, 30% of your meal cost goes back to the organization, which provides a wide variety of services to people in the Puget Sound who are living with HIV/AIDS, including fresh meals and groceries from the Chicken Soup Brigade, housing, insurance, and education/prevention programs.
Did Someone Say Free Coffee?
During tomorrow night's three hour nation-wide Starbucks closure, local coffee shop Caffe Vita will be giving away free coffee and espresso drinks. Yes coffee fiends of Seattle--so that's basically all of you--that's good free coffee, just because the big chain that you feel slightly embarrassed about going to is closed. Lovely!
