Pulling into Westlake Station in the bus tunnel this morning, our driver announces over the speakers, "Gonna be a train in here on Monday morning. Should be interesting." We look around at one another and laugh a little. Driver then says, "I give it no more than thirty days before we have a bus-train incident."

"Third and Pine, rain or shine," the bus driver almost sings to his passengers.

Monday night at the Croc, Islands were sick---quite literally, as all the members of the band seemed to have caught a wittle cold. It makes sense that they'd be under the weather; those scrawny Québécois boys could stand to eat a sandwich or two. Even though they were relatively low-energy, they still put on a great show, and, probably due to the illness, they didn’t cop an attitude like they did the last time around. They did, however, wear all white again, though singer Nick Diamonds started off the set with a sky blue blazer that we would totally wear, except that it would probably make us look too girly. Nick was also wearing some capital-t tight white jeans, through which we could see both the outlines of his pockets and the fact that he dresses left.

Sometimes with club security, it's feast or famine. Recently, Seattlest had been at an all-ages show at the Croc, where a bouncer went through everything in our bag, rummaging through pockets, opening our coin purse, and ultimately confiscating an empty plastic water bottle. On the other hand, Wednesday night at Neumo's, the guy at the door barely glanced at our ID and let us in without so much as a cursory examination of our purse. And here we had been worrying about trying to enter a venue with a full bottle of vitamin B6.
