Has anyone else noticed that Bryan Adams is playing a show in Seattle next week? A show at Town Hall? A show that costs $60? Sure, that price includes a pre-concert meet and greet, but still. $60 for a "very special solo performance" of a singer best known for a song from Robin Hood (starring Kevin Costner's accent epic fail) is approximately ridiculous. Especially considering Adams' show two nights later in Eugene is about half that price. We blame Canada.

Late summer is berry season, which means it is also bear season. A 51 year-old man mountain biking in Banner Forest (near Port Orchard on the Kitsap Peninsula) was attacked by a male black bear last week. His dogs were running ahead of him, and he heard them barking. He turned a corner, and was face-to-face with the bear, which then attacked him. Attacks by black bears are remarkably rare, which makes the situation all the more puzzling. Miraculously he survived and is in good condition, and both dogs are alive and well. Every mountain biker, hunter, hiker, random person that Seattlest knows seems to have their own opinion: he shouldn't have had his dogs off leash, shouldn't have been riding by himself, he was in a freaking "Forest" what do you expect...and so on.

This is a big weekend due to the Esurance® Capitol Hill Block Party alone. Tickets are not sold out yet; if nothing else, just by 'em at the door. But what to do if you want to avoid the Hill and the confluence of all those hipsters?

Okay, okay, you have empathy fatigue or some bullshit like that and you don't want to even hear it anymore. You gave! We know! Don't even mention the word "benefit" in your presence or you're likely to go off on some compassionate conservative rant right here. So, we won't. We won't say that Guilty Pleasures at the Sunset tonight is a benefit.
