Saturday night offered quite the dilemma for indie rock fans: Should one buy tickets for the KEXP Benefit show at Neumo's or Franz Ferdinand at the Paramount? Luckily, Franz was also playing the following night, which allowed Seattlest to attend both shows and not miss a thing.

In case you haven't quite had your fill of Death Cab for Cutie cameos (the O.C.) or interviews (we talked to British Sea Power yesterday) recently, guitarist Christopher Walla interviews writer and NPR great Sarah Vowell at Salon.com today. Vowell's book "The Partly Cloudy Patriot" apparently had quite an effect on Walla and led him to purchase multiple copies for friends and family and, eventually, brought about this interview.

There is no show we recommend more this week than the British Sea Power's Wednesday night gig at Neumo's. They are one of our favorite new bands. Their 2003 CD, 'The Decline of British Sea Power' has pretty much been in solid < product placement>iPod rotation since we first got it. While they are often compared to Joy Division (or Interpol for the younger set), we like to think of them as a British version of the Decemberists only with more rock and cuter accents (sorry, Decemberists, your accents are very cute too). They are one of the best live bands on the current indie scene and should not be missed.

The Gang of Four reunion rumors were true: they'll play the second day of 2005's Coachella Festival in Indio, California.
