Befuddled Bob Weiss, whose sideline body language reminded us of overwhelmed Husky coach Keith Gilbertson, is gone, replaced by Bob Hill. Hill's last team, the 2002-03 Fordham University Rams, posted a 2-26 record (though they did nearly knock off then #25 Dayton). Hill is a safe and underwhelming choice--just like Weiss was.

Sonics coach Bob Weiss thinks he's finally figured out what's wrong with his 13-17 team--they lack a shot-blocker.
Wouldn't it be great if everything were like last year ? Nate McMillian was coaching, the Sonics were winning, and everyone got along. Well check the calendar Jack, because it's 2005-2006 ---Bob Weiss is the coach, the Sonics aren't playing that well, and Vladamir Radmanovic is piiiiiised.
After playing poorly in the Sonics' first two games, fourth-year guard Ronald "Flip" Murray is going to be getting considerably more pine time.
When Howard Schultz bought the Sonics, he spoke of a five-year plan to win a championship. It started out fine with a year-one trip to the playoffs, then the second and third year--nothing. Last year the team made the leap and finished as a third seed in the West, taking the eventual champion Spurs to six games in the conference semi-finals.
Current assistant coach, original player, and Stephen Tobolowsky look-alike Bob Weiss has been offered the Sonics head coaching job, if the Tacoma News-Tribune is to be believed.
