Today marks the 75th anniversary of the end of Prohibition via the 21st Amendment, a.k.a. Repeal Day. It's hard to fathom that for thirteen sad, dark years (1920 to 1933), our fine country was dry (or at least, legally so). Considering earlier this week was also the 75th anniversary of the bloody mary, there's twice as much to celebrate this year.

After living 56 steps (Yes, we counted several times) from this branch of the Elysian Brewery, Elysian Tangletown will always be one of our favorites.

How come we're not convinced this a good thing? Hollow swizzle sticks made out of genetically engineered celery, for fuck's sake. From fucking Florida, as if we couldn't guess.

Seattlest finally got out to see a performance of Line One at the CHAC on Friday. The premise of Line One is that the actors on stage are all wearing Bluetooth cell phone earpieces - Different people call the show and are patched through to various actors' cell phones and the actors repeat what they say. The theme is different for each performance's phone calls, and part of the reason we took so long to get to a show is that we were waiting until the "Meet Me At The Mall" night. However, we screwed it up and went on Friday which was spooky and supernatural Friday the 13th night and had nothing to do with the mall. Meet Me At The Mall was Thursday night.
