Salmonzilla was found dead at Battle Creek in California recently. It weighs 85 lbs and the speculation is that when it was alive and beginning its trek in from the ocean it would have weighed 90 lbs--a few pounds heavier than the largest chinook ever sport fished from California, but several pounds shy of the Alaskan record of 97 lbs. The record for the state of Washington is a paltry 70 lbs 8 oz.

Remember the Sasquatch/Bigfoot corpse found in Georgia recently? Last week we heard it "failed a DNA test"--and this week, we find it failed the DNA test because the corpse was made out of rubber. That's kind of funny, but far less interesting than if it had indeed turned out to be Homer Simpson (Seattlest commenter zagreusmd's prediction). Are we the only Pacific Northwestern child ever regaled with medium-tall tales about the Quarks that roam local forests? Surely, those are real.

Two hunters claim they found a dead Bigfoot (better known around these parts as Sasquatch) in some woods in northern Georgia. The hunters, with the help of a Bay Area group dedicated to finding Bigfoot, will host a press conference on Friday in Palo Alto. The hunters claim the animal they found is male, was seven feet seven inches tall, weighed over 500 pounds, and is covered in reddish hair. We're skeptical of Bigfoots in Georgia (in the Cascades--sure!) but you better believe we'll be tuned in to Friday's press conference.
