What fine times we had within your warm, hop-scented confines, BPP. We hated to see your doors shut—one last time—this past Saturday. How we'll rue the absence of our favorite place in West Seattle. Can't wait to see you reopen across the street later this week.......

This Seattlest's liver already hurts just thinking about all the beers we're going to try this weekend. Granted, the Hard Liver Festival at Brouwer's Cafe in Fremont officially runs all week. But, some of the good stuff will be gone before the afternoon is out on the opening day this Saturday (Doors at 11am). But, if you don't like crowds, don't come on Saturday....it will most likely be packed by noon. The sixth annual......

"Well I woke up Sunday morning, With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, So I had one more for dessert. Before we moved our worldly possessions across Elliott Bay to West Seattle, we'd never visited that neighborhood's Beveridge Place Pub. And we'd never tasted 3-Grid IPA, an excellently hoppy product of that neighborhood's Schooner Exact Brewing Co. Now that we pose as West Seattle regulars, we recognize both pub and brewer as priceless neighborhood gems; there's no better place to kill a few (happy) hours, and no finer micro-local IPA. So it's with great......

Have you heard of cask beer, but maybe avoided it because you think it is supposed to be served warm and flat? Well, you need to find out what you're missing. Cask-conditioned beer, often referred to as 'real ale', is brewed from only traditional ingredients and allowed to mature naturally. The unfiltered, unpasteurised beer still contains live yeast, which continues conditioning the beer in the cask (known as 'secondary fermentation'); this process creates a......
