Gallery: Pete Yorn Took Us Back, Ben Kweller Showed Us What's Ahead

             + 1 more

Pete Yorn did not disappoint us on Friday night. It was pretty obvious about eighty percent of the concert-goers were there to take a step back in time and hear MusicForTheMorningAfter in its entirety. That's what we were excited about and sang every note as loud as we could. Embarrassing? Maybe. Do we care? No. What ended up surprising us was Ben Kweller's incredible set starting off the evening. He put on quite a show and he had some die-hard fans up front brightening his already charming smile more than once. He has a great way of mixing acoustic easy tunes with hard-edged electric solos. Both styles performed by him with seemingly flawless transitions; we were in awe. He talked about heading to the studio for a new album and exciting times ahead after a long hiatus. You can check out more shots here from a truly stellar show. more ›

Since his debut album, he's moved into a faster-paced rock sound both in music and vocals. He's still undeniably Pete Yorn but with a bit more of an upbeat feeling. more ›

Observations from the Ben Kweller Sing-Along

Ben Kweller knows his way around a pop song, and his audience has full appreciation for everything he does. Seattlest has a soft spot for pop, so we were excited to finally get to see Ben Kweller do his thing at the Showbox Saturday night. And a wonderful thing it was, finding Seattlest joining in the chorus of fans singing along to all of our favorites, like some version of indie-pop camp. more ›
