Today's photo is one of Seattle's greats, Eddie Vedder, during his recent performance at Benaroya Hall. He has ventured into solo-dom with a ukelele at his side. Though tentative about how well that would work, Morgen was impressed and awed at his voice and musical talents.

Re:Take: Transit on Third
In 1943, Seattle Transit ripped up the tracks on Third Avenue downtown. Over the years we've ripped down many of the buildings, too, but you can still find the Mann, Vance, and Securities buildings at least.
David Sedaris Comes to Benaroya in May...
When David Sedaris comes to town, it's a big deal, cause it only happens about once a year. Tickets for the single-evening event at Benaroya Hall, presented by NWAA and The Stranger, went on sale last month, and it would behoove you to get a move on and grab some (before everyone else does).

NOT NOW ARCTIC PUFFIN!: Oh, buddy...you warm our little holiday hearts. Could you be any cuter sitting on Bob Newharts lap? Jon Favreau's Elf teeters the edge of being over the top, but manages to be just the right amount of cute and giggles. Start your holiday week off right and get in the Cwistmas spirit!

SUB POP HEROES: The Murder City Devils are back, and they're probably not happy about it. But if ever the time was right for their post-punk gloom and doom, it's now. It's like when Warren Zevon was talking about having cancer and he was all, "This is the kind of thing I've been talking about." (He also said, "Enjoy every sandwich.") And just so you know, Sound on the Sound is "stoked" about this show.
A Visit from Guitar Virtuoso Eduardo Fernandez

Now in his mid-fifties, Fernández has established a reputation for being a musician’s musician, and we were eager to finally see this great musician in a live concert.
Denny's Owner Sues
"The Board's decision ... was sentimental and capricious, but not legal," says one of the two filings that make up the suit. "The Board's action was improper and illegal."
Get Out Thursday: Josh Roman Does Radiohead, Among Other Things
Joshua Roman, for those of you more concerned with what's going on at Neumo's than what's happening in Benaroya Hall, is the star cellist in Seattle Symphony. He's also 23, has hair like a young Bob Dylan, and seriously kicks ass.
