"Splat Kapow," courtesy of Seattlest Flickr user JeanineAnderson Yeah, that's MvB, Charles, and yours truly hanging out in the sand, doing what we do when we're not behind our computers knocking out the blog brilliance you all know and love. (Or is it John, Dan, and Abbey? We're not telling!) If you want to get up close and personal with our alter egos, you should mark your calendars now. Next Monday is Seattlest Happy Hour......

Naturally Slavoj Žižek, whose inner cultural critic wins equal time from his inner philosopher, spiced his Town Hall talk last night with cinematic references, in particular, The Dark Knight. After seeing that (and Kung Fu Panda five times, thanks to his "small degenerate son"), he was disturbed by the message that it's noble to lie on behalf of power, to protect it. But, it's good that there are people who do such a thing, and that they'll be gathering downtown today......

"@ the movies. Milk Duds. Swedish Fish. Sour Patch." by ascheele100 Since we've already used this pic, we have to use the above as a subtle reminder to get you out to go see The Dark Knight. We've seen it - it's excellent. It's only improved by getting hopped up on candy. Post your own candy-filled (or candy-fueled) gems in the Seattlest Flickr Pool.......

Right off the bat (ha!), here it is: We are so fucking excited about The Dark Knight. In fact, we haven't been this excited about a movie in we don't know how long. We're not, however, going to see it tonight, nor tomorrow, nor this weekend. We're waiting until Tuesday. But that's because we're old and crusty and don't like standing in line for things. The Cinerama has show times tonight at 12:00 a.m. and......
