As September nears, we can’t help but feel nostalgic for our elementary school days. Remember the rush of excitement you felt when presented with your back-to-school shopping list? It seems like only yesterday we were agonizing over which Trapper Keeper or Pee Chee design to select. Not to mention countless negotiations in an effort to secure the larger box of crayons.

Capitol Hill's Men's Gloves Gap
Last night was colder than we expected--damn you, cold, wet fog!--and just after the sun went down, we realized we should have brought gloves if we were going to be biking around. We were down around the Pike/Pine corridor, navigating between a Cap to the Hill meetup at Moe Bar, a "Save Newspapers?" confab at Office Nomads, and Marat/Sade at Balagan Theatre, so we stopped in at the Walgreen's at Broadway and Pine. They had Magic Gloves for Women for $1.99. No men's gloves, and while our hands are...not overly large...we didn't dig the color palette. So we walked over to the Bartell Drugs at Pike. Same Magic Gloves, but also Isotoner for Women. No men's gloves. Not a single pair. Shame on you, druggists of Pike/Pine. We waggle our chapped, aching finger at you.
