MUSIC: Chicago's Kate Simko was last in town to play the Decibel Festival, where she wowed those in attendance with her lush, melodic techno. She's back in town to support her latest release for local boutique label Kupei, a collaboration under the Detalles alias.

Studies pertaining to the downtown viaduct/99 /tunnel/bridge/ boulevard/clusterfuck are coming in, and the discussion is started (or "raging" if you prefer). It's been the People's Waterfront Coalition's contention that if traffic through downtown can be managed for long enough to tear down the Viaduct and build something in its place, then traffic can be managed indefinitely. Last Friday, Seattlest spent an enjoyable evening at the Columbia City Theatre. We were there to see the new Black Box Opera production, “Sondheim, Newman and Weill.” It’s a cabaret show made up of songs by, not surprisingly, Stephen Sondheim, Randy Newman and Kurt Weill.

Anyone else getting a little bit creeped out by the three weird Seattle murders this week?
