Way back in November we wrote that we were going to start following the Blazers. We got off to a fast start; however, as the NBA season ground on and the Huskies took off, we kind of fell off the map on that one. The December snow canceled our trip to the Rose Garden--well, that and the lack of any planning whatsoever.

Seattlest to OKC: 'You Can Keep Him'
Your Oklahoma City Thunder have fired head coach P.J. Carlesimo after the team started its season 1-12. Last night, the Thunder were thumped at home by 25 points on national television and the team was booed off the floor for the second game in a row. It's been a rough month for Thunder owner Aubrey McClendon whose company, Chesapeake Energy, was forced to sell nearly a third of their stake in the precious Marcellus Shale holdings to the Norwegian energy company Statoil in order to meet another cash crunch. We hate when that happens.
Sonics' Thief-in-Chief McClendon To Shaft College Rowers?
Two weeks ago, Seattlest chronicled the financial follies of Aubrey McClendon, CEO of Chesapeake Energy and leader of the gang who stole our Sonics. As the stock market unraveled, McClendon found himself in a margin call and was forced to sell 33 million shares of his company at nearly a $2 billion loss. Now comes word that McClendon may be reneging on his $7 million pledge to the University of Oklahoma's women's rowing team. Seems their new boathouse and living facilities may have to wait a little longer. (h/t to Dashiell Bennett of Deadspin)

Sonics Owner Admits It: We Always Wanted to Move to OKC
Sonics minority owner Aubrey McClendon confirms what we all suspected from the start. In an interview with the Oklahoma City Journal Record, he says:
.As we've been saying from the start, these guys never had any intention of keeping the Sonics in Seattle.
Sonics-Backed Anti-Gay Marriage Website Suddenly "Under Construction"
A few days of awful publicity later, the website of Americans United to Preserve Marriage, the anti-gay-marriage organization bankrolled by Sonics owners, is now "under construction."
