Can't Miss It: Tuesday

This site claims to explain what 2001 is about, in Flash. When it opened, the NY Times' Renata Adler pegged it "somewhere between hypnotic and immensely boring," comparing the space voyage to a kid's time at a '50s camp. Yet it's hard even to think of a movie with comparable sweep: from the dawn of consciousness (i.e., 1968) to a manned spacecraft sent to Jupiter; or of a movie than has so firmly established itself in our cultural awareness.
