Seattlest was hoping we could avoiding writing about the whole Marine puppy killing on YouTube thing. Just writing that sentence makes our stomach lurch. However, it's a story that just won't go away and which has local connections, so we're here to tell you about it. A Monroe, Wash., family has reportedly been getting threats by mail and phone since their son was named as the possible Marine in the video. In the week......

Unfortunately, the following story is not a plot-outline for next weeks Law & Order or CSI. Rather it's the gruesome fate a young army couple met this weekend in Parkland, WA. Randi and Timothy Miller were shot in their home this weekend and then doused in muriatic acid, in hopes that the evidence of their killing would be destroyed. The suspect, Spc. Ivette Gonzalez Davila, also kidnapped the couple's young child, Cassidy. Davila was......

Oregon beat the Cougs 53-7, and the game wasn't as close as the final score indicates. The Cougs were down 40-0 at halftime. We flipped on the post-game show to hear the Cougs' radio team explaining why it's hard to recruit top athletes to Pullman.......

Caitlin Snaring of Redmond (that is she, pictured above) won the National Geographic Bee yesterday. Snaring, who is home-schooled, estimated that she studied 60 hours a week to prepare for the competition. It paid off--in two days of the Bee, she didn't miss a single question. Snaring is the first girl to win the competition in 17 years. Stephen J Boitano/AP Photo......

The Hawks' own Matt Hasselbeck and his (not un-foxy) mom will join with the man who bested him in Super Bowl XL, Ben Roethlisberger, and longtime soup pitchman Donovan McNabb, for a new season of Chunky Soup commercials. Yes, someone's already posited that there's a Chunky Soup curse. Photo courtesy AP Photo/Campbell's Soup, Diane Bondareff......
