We're stumped by those weight-activated turn arrows at intersections. When you're on a bike, what do you do? If you're at the head of the line, you don't have a car in front to trigger it and you're there forever. (And sometimes drivers politely avoid crowding you, and don't trigger the plate behind you.) We're baffled. Sometimes we bike through the crosswalk instead. Sometimes we just turn a street early to avoid the light. Is... [continue]
Sitting here, looking out our window at the torturous rain and gray skies, thinking about killing ourselves--you know, the usual thing to do when it's June but still feels like February. But what is this? Yet another story about scantily-clad baristas! Joy! Boobs and joy and boobs and joy. This latest assault on our provocative purveyors of coffee, comes from the City of Bonney Lake and their efforts to put a stop to the girls... [continue]
With 1,967,000 unique visitors in March, the P-I comes in twentieth, in fact, according to the Nielsen ratings of the U.S. online news field. (Oddly, that's a drop of 8% from March last year.) The Seattle Times didn't crack the top 30, so we don't know where they're at. But Village Voice Media, the alien overlords who run the Seattle Weekly, can boast a 12th-place finish, with about 2.8 million visitors to their network. This... [continue]

It doesn't have to have a zipper down the front like the one Mister Rogers wore on the program,it just has to be special to you. These festivities are all part of... [continue]
The offending soup Seattlest has that nasty cough and cold that seems to be making the rounds in town. Our best friend was kind enough to stop by the store and pick up some soup to try and nurse us back to health. Returning from the Safeway on 15th Ave on Capitol Hill, our best friend brought us Safeway's Signature soup that he'd bought today, which read "Best if Served by December 06, 2007." In... [continue]
In the "State of the City" address on Tuesday, Mayor Greg Nickels introduced his new plan to make housing more affordable in Seattle. Definitely something Seattle needs to tackle with verve and determination, we just don't think anyone is going to take the "Affordable Seattle Strategy" (ASS) that seriously. Then again, partially thanks to Mayor Nickels a few Seattlites do ride the S.L.U.T., so maybe it's right on par. The State of the City address... [continue]
