Can't Miss It: Tuesday
THE BIZ: The Crocodile's monthly happy hour/networking series for music industry folks (dubbed "The Office") is usually on Monday nights. This month, however, it's on a Tuesday night. It's tonight, in fact. This month features D List Magazine ("The Northwest's premiere lifestyle magazine") and USC Events. There's cheap booze and a two-for-one pizza deal (!!!), but also you get the chance to rub elbows with some of Seattle's music biz movers and shakers.

THE SLAM: Each Tuesday night at Re-Bar the Seattle Poetry Slam hosts an evening jam packed with word-y goodness. Here's how the night goes: 8:30 pm starts the open mic portion, then a featured poet takes the stage at 9 pm (tonight the featured poet is Dave Stanley) and at 10 pm the poetry war also known as the "slam" begins. Each poet earns a score awarded by randomly-picked judges from the audience. The winning poets get prizes and a chance at representing Seattle on the national and international level. Prepare yourself for a battle royale of words and poems and thoughts and feelings.

LOCALIZE: Eating local is one of the newer culinary trends making the rounds. It's a good one though - good for the environment, good for farmers, and good for you. Chef Seth Caswell will be hosting the latest installment of "Local Chefs for Local Farms" at his renowned restaurant in Queen Anne, emmer&rye. The event brings together chef, farmer, and eater to enjoy a seasonal 4-course feast that is also locally produced. Farmers Jason and Siri Salvo will be speaking alongside Chef Caswell and PCC Farmland Trust - discussing the benefits and challenges of eating and growing local, organic food.

TRIVIA + CATS + MOVIES: If you have a smart phone you may already be familiar with MovieCat Trivia. However, if you are unfamiliar with this app then you should know that MovieCat is a film trivia game that combines questions with visual puzzles. Central Cinema brings this game to life on the fourth Tuesday of every month. And this ain't your average trivia night. First, the quizmasters are dressed up in cat costumes. Second, these quizmasters don't just read a list of questions. This game uses the full capability of the theater - pictures are displayed, audio clips are played, and video clips are shown. It's like a real game show.
