Extra, Extra: The DOJ Tells Us What We All Already Knew
Well, that day when by quickly, didn't it? Here's what you may have missed while you were doing your last-minute holiday shopping online (because, you know, those Amazon purchases won't make it by Christmas if you ordered today...)
- The Department of Justice confirms what everyone in Seattle was thinking: that the SPD frequently and often implements unnecessary force. What does this mean for John Diaz? Is his reactions to any of the other allegations of this nature are any indication, probably business as usual.
- Particularly because, rather than agreeing, Diaz has already started questioning. You know, like you do when the DOJ tells you what an entire city has been complaining of for a year is totally valid.
- In also-awful news, Planned Parenthood is closing three area branches. Forks, Silverdale, and Oak Harbor will all be left without low-cost and free women's health care as a result of the detrimental decision, something that is sure to impact low-income women in those areas.
- And finally, Colton Harris-Moore, also known as the Barefoot Bandit, has plead guilty to a multitude of charges stemming from his years-long crime spree. Prosecutors called the 20-year-old a "menace."
That concludes the news of the day. Enjoy your weekend, Seattleites!
