There are plenty of stereotypes about Seattle: an abundance of plaid, the neverending sounds of grunge music filling the air, and, did you know it rains ALL the time? As with most stereotypes, there is a small degree of truth behind them, but one Seattle stereotype that is truer than true is this city loves their coffee. As a result, we're thinking there might be a pretty good turnout at tonight's MOHAI History Cafe.

On the third Thursday of every month, the Museum of History and Industry joins forces with the Seattle Public Library and KCTS 9 to host a gathering at Capitol Hill's Roy Street Coffee and Tea where participants enjoy drinks and historical conversation. Tonight's History Cafe, the final installment in 2011, takes on the tumultuous history of coffee. Sultans and kings banned it, revolutionaries drank it, and today, people can't get enough of it, especially here in Seattle. So, whether you are a caffeine junkie, a coffee snob, or just a history lover, this event has something for you.

Interested in attending tonight's History Cafe? Space is limited, so register ahead of time at MeetUp.

Tonight at 7:00p.m. // Roy Street Coffee & Tea, 700 Broadway Avenue East // Free
