Can't Miss It: Thursday

flamenco_en_vivo.gif GO TEAM: Team Up for Nonprofits ends the year with a night of regional fundraising folk rock, starring Portland's Drew Grow & The Pastor's Wives, Shelton, Wa trio Lower Lights Burning, and Ravenna Woods frontman Chris Cunningham. With Gigs4Good, Team Up stages concerts to raise funds and awareness for local nonprofit orgs. This is the 2nd annual Gigs4Good for Team Up, which will raise money for Team Up's 2012 season (it is a nonprofit itself). That reminds us of the age-old adage: "It takes bands to make money to make bands make money for good." Something like that.

8:00 p.m. // The Tractor Tavern 5313 Ballard Ave NW // $10-$15

FLAMETHROWERS: Baile, cante, toque. The three elements of flamenco come together in Columbia City in 3 Glorias: Flamenco En Vivo. The show features the vocals of Jesus Montoya, a former sevillano so well known in the flamenco world he has nearly as many nicknames as Babe Ruth ("El Rey del Fandango" and "The Pavarotti of Flamenco" among them). Now a singer and composer living in L.A., Montoya dropped out of school at age 9 to become a professional singer. Eat your heart out Justin Bieber. Pedro Cortes, who comes from a family of Spanish Gypsy guitarists and went pro flamenco at age 17, performs as does Seattleite dancer Ana Montes, who studied flamenco in Madrid.

8:00 p.m. // Columbia City Theater 4916 Rainier Ave S // $20

CULTURE STUDIES: Comedians Edrease Peshtaz and Jesse Villacis host first ever Tick Tock Pop. All pop culture topics are in bounds in this comedy variety show. They promise "super secret" guests, and we're seeing rumors that one of the guests is "a key figure in the 1980's hardcore scene, and currently tours the country doing spoken word and public speaking." We have exactly one guess for who that guest might be, but only those who go will be first to know. This is an all ages show, as all Vera events are.

7:30 p.m. // Vera Project 305 Harrison St. // $5-$6
