Musicians Team Up For Nonprofits Tomorrow at the Tractor

gigsforgood.gif Team Up For Nonprofits is one of Seattlest's favorite altruistic groups; its purpose is to raise funds for not any single nonprofit type, but for any group that needs help. Let's face it, there are too many around to even attempt a list, and helping them all seems like a daunting task.

Team Up's mission, according to its founder Ryan Hodgson, is to build capacity for nonprofits by cultivating a new generation of engaged supporters through the power of music and social media.

One way that Team Up has encouraged support is by combining Seattle's love of music with their passion for giving. These events, called Gigs4Good, pull together well-known musicians throughout the region and puts them together in one venue for a night of fun and fund-raising.

Tomorrow night at the Tractor Tavern, Gigs4Good #9 features an exceptional lineup with Drew Grow and the Pastor's Wives from Portland, Lower Lights Burning from Shelton and Chris Cunningham of Seattle's own Ravenna Woods.

Typically, these shows cost a bit more to get in, in order to put a serious dent in the financial burden of the chosen nonprofit. This time through, it's a more manageable price for the everyday concert-goer, making it worth braving the cold evening air. So grab your honey, a hot chocolate (or a bit of booze at the bar) to warm you up and start dancing the night away for a good cause.

Thursday at 7:00pm, 21+ // Tractor Tavern, 5213 Ballard Avenue NW // Tickets available at Brown Paper Tickets; $15 ($10 for students)
