Annie Leibovitz is visiting the Elliott Bay Book Company tonight for an informal talk and book signing.
WTH, Seahawks: If there's any one thing that could be said about Pete Carroll's mercurial little team, it's that you never know which team is going to show up. Which team will it be as the 'Hawks go up against the St. Louis Rams? Are they going to be the high-quality Raven-stompers? Or the guys who got mauled by the Bengals? Who knows? What we can tell you right now is that the QB everyone doubted will be coming off of a ten-days' rest, and Marshawn Lynch is looking to string another 100-plus yard game...Sports Editor Annie Durkin will have a preview, breaking down the strengths and weaknesses of each team, later in the day.

Tonight at 5:30p.m. // CenturyLink Field, 800 Occidental Avenue South (also showing on JoeTV 22) // $65 - $425

Annie Liebovitz's photography has been an ever present visual component for over thirty years now. Her celebrity portraits tend to have an instantly iconic quality, regardless of who her subjects may be. She seems to capture an essence of the person her camera is aimed at, regardless of whether it was pure conjecture on the part of the viewer, the essence was there. With Pilgrimage, Leibovitz new book, she has shifted away from portraiture, and instead focuses on nature and the environments of people she finds inspiring. Leibovitz is making an appearance at Elliott Bay Book Company, where she will speak and later sign copies of her new book.

Tonight at 7:00p.m. // Elliott Bay Book Company, 1521 Tenth Avenue // Free (Book is $50)

Those seeking an alternative respite from the rampant holiday fare that's on offer are advised to catch this month's installment of 12Minutes Max at On the Boards in Lower Queen Anne. This time through, the program has been curated by a puppeteer, and who knows how that will skew the material that's on offer. However, the act that we're particularly excited for is the preview of OtB's January entry: Erin Jorgensen's collaboration with Seattle producer extraordinaire Steve Fisk entitled Redemption. Consider us fans of Jorgensen in general, though the fanaticism grows exponentially whenever she could be found behind her marimba, or in conjunction with The French Project, and tonight we get to peek at her latest endeavor...January can't get here fast enough.

Tonight at 7:00p.m. // On the Boards' Studio Theater, 100 West Roy Street // $8
