Seattle Woman Goes Full Berserker on SPD Officer

Police officers do not relish taking domestic violence calls. With victims and perpetrators at their most emotionally raw, and violence already introduced into the situation (often along with drugs and/or alcohol), things can get ugly. Officers responding to a report of domestic violence at 8th and Pine at 2am this morning were probably bracing themselves for something unnerving, but "unnerving" comes nowhere close to describing what they encountered.

The victim described being attacked and strangled by a woman who fled before police arrived. Officers took his statement and left, but 90 minutes later, the victim was on the emergency line again- his attacker had returned and was assaulting him again. When officers arrived, she was still in the home, and they attempted to arrest her. According to the SPD, the suspect resisted arrest by "pushing, pulling and flailing her body." She kicked, and even bit one of the officers before finally being subdued. Once secured in a patrol car she "continued to act belligerent and out of control." Unsurprisingly, she's now in King County Jail for Investigation of DV Assault and Investigation of Assault on the officer.

The arresting officer suffered only minor bruising from the kicks, and we can only hope the bite did not transmit insanity or zombieism.
