Wednesday Morning Headlines
- After multiple high-profile incidents involving the Seattle Police Department's use of force, (and an investigation by the Department of Justice) SPD Chief John Diaz has announced a "top to bottom"reworking of the department's policies and accountability measures.
- Washington State author David Guterson had the dubious distinction of winning the 2011 Bad Sex award, for a scene from his novel, "Ed King". The novel is a modern re-imagining of the tale of Oedipus. Let's just leave it at that.
- Occupy Seattle might have been served their eviction papers, but a District Judge ruled today in favor of Occupiers throughout Washington, deeming that trespass warnings handed out by Washington State Troopers during Olympia protests were a violation of protester's constitutional rights.
- And in a completely non-story headline: apparently our city's slogan was at one point "Metronatural".
