Countdown in Photos #1: Band of Horses

Over the next month, I am planning to delight you with tales of my adventures as a concert photographer in 2011. Basically, you'll get a glimpse into the most memorable snippets of my life over the past year. They may be the best shots I took, or the best moments I experienced. Either way, it would be a shame for those to fall by the wayside and be left sitting dormant in my feeble mind. Keep coming back, there'll be a new one each day. Now onto the good stuff... shot number one.

It was the last day of Musicfest Northwest (MFNW) and I was utterly brain-dead and dead on my feet. I finally had access to the main stage show but I was having a tough time appreciating it after four days of solid music coverage and running all over Portland to get it. Then, as Band of Horses entered the stage, the crowd went nuts and the mass of photographers crammed into the pit. When they started playing, all that weariness melted away and a huge smile spread across my face.

I had to tear myself away from the stage so I could get home to Seattle at a decent hour. I couldn't think of a better way to end my first MFNW experience than with a Band of Horses show echoing through downtown Portland as I drove out of the ctiy.
