Wing-It Production Presents a Twist on An Old Holiday Classic
When asked what our favorite holiday classic movie or play is, what would you say most Seattleites might respond with? My guess is A Christmas Story, since it seems like getting BB guns for Christmas and sticking your tongue on a frozen lamppost would be pretty common pastimes for most of us.
But, what about the Christmas classic, "It's a Wonderful Life"? Good 'ol Jimmy Stuart and his infamous holiday-time meltdown. Who here hasn't had bad luck around the holidays on top of the stress of family in town, buying all of your holiday gifts last minute, whilst fighting off the short daylight hours? It's a story all of us can relate to. And sometimes we need some crazy old guy in long johns to come down and knock some sense into us as we are about to punch someone in the face in order to snag the last Tickle Me Elmo doll at Wal-mart.
This year, Wing-It Productions brings you a new twist on this classic with the improv show, "It's Your Wonderful Life."
Based on the holiday classic, "It's a Wonderful Life," the show replaces the tale of everyman, George Bailey, with the life story of a different audience volunteer every night, showcasing a new wonderful life. I guess depending on the life story, though, things could get pretty kooky (let's all cross our fingers for kooky, eh?) If you're looking for holiday entertainment that isn't going to put you to sleep (sorry Nutcracker, no offense or anything, but I snored through my last sit-through of that show), "It's Your Wonderful Life" is for you. Knowing Wing-It's track record with putting on quality, dare I say, weird productions, this is guaranteed to be unlike any holiday theater show you've experienced before.
The show starts its run tomorrow night and Friday, November 17th. After a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday, the show will return to the stage on December 1st (rumor has it, the 1st will be a very showing) through the 23rd.
Get your tickets here and remember, every time a bell rings, and angel gets its wings boys and girls.
