Tonight: Two Brewer's Nights, Two Great Locations

As mentioned last week, Brewer’s Nights are where it’s at for cheap, delicious, hard-to-find beers as well as (this is the most important part, so pay attention) free swag.

And, as the weather turns colder, and the nights grow longer, it seems like brewer’s nights come more frequently. Tonight is no exception, as you will have to choose between (or haul ass to both of) two fabulous options by two delightful local breweries. Brewer's Night photo.jpg

Here’s what we’ve got:

Pike Brewing Brewer’s Night @Brave Horse Tavern

Tonight, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Join Charles and Rose Ann Finkel, for Brewer's Night at Brave Horse Tavern in South Lake Union.

Pint of Pike's current seasonal, Auld Acquaintance paired with Chef Warren Peterson's Duck Country Pate, with duck cracklins and orange; $10. $3 Schooners, $5 Pints and $7 a la carte for the Pate.

This year's version of Auld Acquaintance by Head Brewer Dean Mochizuki has been improved upon, darker and toastier with both bittering and sweet orange, rye flakes, Cassia bark, nutmeg and coriander. A flavorful session beer with subtle spices - you’ll find yourself in winter beer heaven with this one folks, I promise. Your tummy will be softly singing "Joy to the World" after every sip.

Maritime Pacific Brewing Company Brewer’s Night @Conor Byrne Pub

Tonight, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Join the swashbucklers, I mean, brewers at Ballard’s own Maritime Pacific Brewing for Brewer’s Night at Conor Byrne Pub in Ballard.

Maritime Pacific will be pouring their Harvest XPA (seasonal fresh hop), a cask conditioned bourbon barrel aged version of their Imperial IPA, and a dry hopped keg of their Old Seattle lager. Harvest XPA is a fresh hopped pale ale brewed with 100 pounds of fresh Amarillo hops and it's the first time the brewery has created the beer in three years. There will be live bluegrass music to keep you company as well as the usual free hotdogs! Huzzah for free hotdogs.

If you’re insane like me, you’ll try and make it to both. Though, I honestly cannot recommend one over the other, as they are both excellent breweries showing off some of the best beers being brewed this season. So if you absolutely must make a decision, my recommendation is to choose the one that is easiest to stumble home from. Hope to see you there. Cheers!
