Will Bake for Food Bake back bigger and better November 12

If you have a love of flour and butter and sugar (read: if you are human), mark your calendar for Saturday, November 12th for the second annual Will Bake for Food, a bake sale put on by local food bloggers to fight hunger in the community.

Organized by local bloggers Jenny Miller and Jenny Richards of Purple House Dirt and Rainy Day Gal, last year's event raised $1000 and one ton of food for local hunger outreach program, Northwest Harvest. This year, funds and food raised will benefit the Emergency Feeding Program.

Stop by to assist the hungry and enjoy local food bloggers homemade Twinkies, pies cakes and even gluten-free treats This year the organizers say they've upped the ante for the sale adding the likes of food blogging luminaries such as Molly Wizenberg of Orangette (and formerly of Seattlest) and Michael Natkin of Herbivoracious to their baking ranks and they have a goal to double last years' take.

The "foodraiser" will run 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at University Heights Center (next to the U-District Farmers' Market.)

Once you're at the sale of delicious baked treats you'll exchange non-perishable food items or greenbacks for tickets to partake in blogger-made baked goods and local apple cider. For more detailed information follow @willbakeforfood on Twitter or visit their website.
