For years the family of Bruce Lee has been attempting to create a museum dedicated to the famous martial arts star in Hong Kong where he spent his formative years. After numerous setbacks, it became evident that their dream would not become a reality. However, a renewed effort to build a Bruce Lee Museum has emerged, and this time Seattle is at the center of it all.

Our fair city is a natural fit for the star's memorial museum. Lee lived in Seattle through much of the 1960s, he attended what is now Seattle Central Community College and the University of Washington, he met his wife here, and he is buried in Lakeview Cemetary alongside his son Brandon.

The proposed Bruce Lee Action Museum would be located in the Chinatown/International District and would feature Lee's writings, personal items and artifacts, and even a theater for possible film viewings, which could include such classics as Enter the Dragon and The Green Hornet.

Details are still being sorted out, and the city council has made no definitive verdict about its construction, but the general buzz seems to be optimistic. Until we know more, the question of the moment is: would you visit a Bruce Lee Museum if it were built here in Seattle?
