Lifewise: Dummy Accident Was Really An Accident
Whoopsies! The Lifewise ad with the slumped-over dummy that prompted an emergency response yesterday when someone mistook it for a real human was not a potential-disaster diorama, but a legitimate accident, Lifewise employee Amy Carter told us in the comments yesterday. "Lifewise designed the ad to get attention, but it seems to have captured a bit more than we anticipated since the figure in the ad was supposed to be shown painting the lower corner of the billboard rather than slumped over," she said, adding that Lifewise is "working to have that corrected."
She made sure to add, "The purpose of the ad... is to let people know that no matter what risks people may take in life, they can have peace of mind knowing that they have a dependable health plan that's there when they need it." Thanks, Amy -- we picked up at least that much, with or without the slumped-over dummy.
The ad, displayed on a building at 2nd and Virginia, promotes Lifewise's "Boringly Good" campaign. We'd venture to guess that this is the least boring ad of the campaign so far.
