Can't Miss It: Wednesday

citruth.png NO PAYNE, NO GAIN: We are big, big fans of the newly-revamped Uptown in Queen Anne. So if you're still recovering from your candy (and booze) hangover, slip into the darkness with the first round of film in SIFF's teeny tribute to the works of Alexander Payne. Tonight, catch the story student film The Passion of Martin, followed by the classic (and quotable) 90s favorite, Citizen Ruth.

7:30 p.m. // Uptown Theater // $5+

LOL: All movie-d out after a weekend spent trying every horror flick offered on Netflix? It's time to laugh it off with the Seattle International Comedy Competition. Way better than the standard run of sweaty comics who can barely keep their act together, this end-all of entertainment features talented comics who will actually make you laugh. Novel, we know. The competition lasts all month, but go to Annex tonight to catch the opening rounds of awesomeness.

8:00 p.m. // Annex Theatre // +$15

JUST THREE GUYS, HAVING A GOOD TIME: We've had our eyes on SuttonBeresCuller, the three-dude art team that brought us Mad Homes, for some time. Now, the triple-threat is bringing their lively, engaging work to their Alma mater, Cornish, for an evolving month-long engagement, which opens tonight! Get there so you can say you've been there since the beginning.

5:00 p.m. // Cornish Main Gallery // Free
