Weekend Traffic: Viadoom's Reign has Ended

Hey! Did you hear the news? The Viaduct is opening early--tomorrow, in fact.

But because WSDOT and SDOT were planning to have it go all weekend, they were careful not to schedule any other construction this weekend. Which means for the most part, traffic should be much better than it's been this week. Even still, there are a few events that may be the root of some troublesome traffic, so keep an eye out for these:

Tomorrow:

  • The Huskies will be playing at home at 7:30 on Saturday evening, which will cause the usual slowing around the University.

  • Judas Priest will be playing at CenturyLink, which may bugger things up on SoDo.

Sunday:

  • Some bridge construction is planned for Sunday morning. The right lane of northbound I-5 across the Ship Canal Bridge will be closed beginning at from 8:30 a.m. and will last for about an hour.

  • The Seahawks will be at the CLink starting around 1:00 p.m., which will probably cause some stickiness on I-5, as well as around SoDo.
