Extra, Extra: Slow News is Good News
Today was a deliciously slow news day (aside from that whole Viaduct jazz)--which is the perfect way to start a weekend of debaucherous and costumed behavior! But just in case your conversation hits a lull while you're cramming candy into your maw while wearing a bed sheet (oh, a toga? How original), here are some news topics to spice things up:
- Traffic: it sucks! It's even worse when there's a speed limit. Which is why this guy, who was late for work, decided to buck the trend and go 103 on the West Seattle Bridge. Safety, schmafety.
- Speaking of things that are unsafe, the seawall, which keeps the city from sliding into the soup, is going to be really, really expensive to fix. Worth it?
- Derek Erdman, known producer of awesomesauce, among other things, has maybe been the victim of vandalism!
- And finally, and this isn't really "news", per se...butour friends at the Washington Bus have posted some photos from last night's ballot party! Check 'em out here (and see which Seattlest staffers you spy).
Yay! Weekend! Be safe, Seattlest readers.
