There is so much going on in Seattle's Lit world this week--pick your poison, but it may be hard to narrow it down!

Canadian Invasion Book Launch at Elliott Bay Book Co:
It's a Canadian invasion! Or at least an invasion of Canadian authors at Elliott Bay Book Co. This evening will feature readings by Suzette Mayr, Dennis E. Bolen, Kevin Chong, and Sookfong Lee. These celebrated writers from the North hail from three Canadian presses, and will be gracing the bookstore with some very different, but exciting material. Novelist Mayr will read from Monoceros, Bollen reads from his seventh book, Anticipated Results, novelist Kevin Chong will entertain with some biting wit, and Sookfong Lee explores Vancouver's 1980s Chinese Canadian community with The Better Mother.

Kurt E. Armbruster at the New Orleans Creole Restaurant:
Another musical book event--except this time we're looking to Seattle's music scene a bit further in the past. Musician and historian Kurt Armbruster will be celebrating our city's diverse history while signing and chatting about his new book, Before Seattle Rocked: A City and Its Music. Though the night will begin tamely enough with the signing--it'll soon get a little wilder when the Olde Seattle Rhythm Band, and then Overton Berry take the stage. That will be followed by Alice Stuart and the Formerly's at 10 p.m., not a shabby way to spend a Saturday night!

Saturday, 7 p.m. // The New Orleans Creole Restaurant // Cover charge for the music program, $8
