The Portland duo DJ Anjali and the Incredible Kid have been a hit around the Pacific Northwest for some time now. Apparently they're responsible for popularizing "bhangra” and “Asian garage”. If you're feeling kind of clueless about these terms, you're not alone... we had to check this out for ourselves. Apparently it's not a very well known term at all as we scoured our sources little to nothing is available. However, from The Incredible Kid's description Asian Garage is an infusion of Asian drum and bass, Reggaeton, and Meren-Rap songs with late ’90s house party sets. That's a mouthful but sounds incredlbe.

Mix in DJ Anjali's bhangra and it might seem like an odd mix but they fit together like tetris pieces. Bhangra is the folk sound of India and with experimentation using instruments from the States or Britain. It's one of the only immigrant music genres that isn't present in its native country. Now that's crazy talk. DJ Anjali killed it at the Sasquatch! festival this year with critical acclaim from a majority of the media as well as the music lovers.

Well get ready to throw on your dancin' shoes because this insanely good electronica duo is heading our way this Friday at the Neptune Theatre. • I always end up dancing when I go to the Triple Door.  I go see my dancer friends when they perform there, so naturally hanging out at the bar after shows always seems to morph into a dance party.
