Go All In at RAW:Seattle
RAW:Seattle artist Annie Bach
There’s never a lack of things to do in Seattle on Thursday nights. In fact, they tend to be one of the busiest for art events and other happenings around town. On any given Thursday you’ll have your choice of theater openings, dance performances, gallery shows, the latest indie release at your favorite movie art house and enough live music options that will leave your head spinning.
That leaves you with two options. You can either pick one performance or event and go “all in” - knowing that you’ll probably be missing out on some other cool stuff taking place. Or you can ricochet between several venues and hope to catch a sampling of the night's offering - but not before fighting traffic, hoping for good parking karma and queuing up in multiple lines.
Tonight, however, you have a third option. RAW: Seattle, an indie arts group, is bringing 22 local artists together under one roof to showcase their latest works in film, fashion, visual art, music and even a hair show for good measure.
The creative juices will be flowing at iMUSIC (across from EMP) starting at 8:00 p.m. with Joshy Washington, a Seattle based travel blogger, playing host to the evening’s art mash-up. The eclectic rock ensemble rootbox will be providing the beats throughout the night and in between DJ Wang promises just the right mix as you wander through the exhibits. Throw in the latest work from nearly two dozen artists who call Seattle home and you have a ‘happening.'
So no matter how bad your parking karma may be you’ll only need to find one spot and stand in one line this evening - and you won’t have to worry about missing a thing.
Check out RAW:Seattle for additional details and tickets.
