Seattlest Loft Session: Art Walk Approacheth

Future home to Seattlest Loft Sessions
Art walk is just around the corner and we're so excited to show off three great local musicians in an intimate and beautiful setting. The big difference between this show and most others that you've encountered is the very loose atmosphere. The tentative start time is 8pm and while that is normally when the first Thursday art walk is supposed to end, most people tend to mill around the area enjoying their slight wine-buzz in the classic old Seattle feel of Pioneer Square. Now that the Autumn/Winter rains have begun to fall, why not let that buzz lift by listening to some acoustic sets.

There are three artists lined up to perform and we couldn't be more stoked to show them off. There is no set order at this time as we're trying to keep this one as simple and easy-going as possible. Basically we'll just roll with the punches and see what happens. Typically that's when the most incredible, unexpected things occur and we're looking forward to it.

The three musicians participating are Matt Kinder, Tony Kevin Jr and of course the resident of the loft itself BC Campbell. Matt Kinder is a new transplant to Seattle with a boatload of talent. He's been a regular at the Conor Byrne open mics for some time but there's a unique story of what brought him to our rainy city. He spoke with Damien Jurado at one of his shows and was convinced that moving to Seattle was next in his musical future.

tony12.jpg Tony Kevin Jr has been on our local radar for a long while now. Most recently he's wowed us at his Tractor show and the Fremont Abbey fundraiser Thirteen. He has an incredible voice that soars through a room with an unmistakable force. His album, Poverty, was released earlier this year to quite a few positive reviews and he continues to hone in on his personal sound. If you want your socks knocked clean off, catch one of his shows where he sings a cover of Adele's "Someone Like You". It'll leave you breathless.

Last but certainly not least is BC Campbell. He's been a part of many a band in Seattle as well as working on a solo career now with a full backing band to round things out and fill in the gaps. One project in particular we're excited about is Gold Mountain in which he has shared the stage with Judd Wasserman and Kathy Moore. Recently they added in Devin Anderson and Paul Fischer to the mix and this group has only gotten better since we first encountered them a few months ago. All in all BC is incredibly talented and it's about time the rest of Seattle figured that out.

We can tell you this much, we're looking forward to hearing what these three gents have to offer because it's going to be a uniquely wonderful experience to say the least. The loft itself, as you probably glimpsed in our first preview post, is going to make for a gorgeous view. You won't want to miss this. The fact that it's free is just that much more of a selling point (or is it a free point?). Hope to see you all there!

Tonight at TK Artist Lofts 3rd & Yester #504 (the building will be open) // Show starts at around 8pm // FREE
