You may know Colin Meloy as the enigmatic frontman for the Portland-based band the Decemberists. And you may know Carson Ellis as an incredible illustrator for many children's books as well as the Decemberists album covers. The two also happen to be married with a son. As much as you may adore one or the other of these two, they are unbearably cute together.

They've decided to collaborate on a children's book where Colin writes the story and Carson illustrates. Don't know about you, but we've been anticipating this book on the edges of our seats for many many months now. It finally arrived at our doorstep and we're not embarrassed to say that a little squeal of delight escaped our lips.

We're not quite ready to discuss the book yet as we'd like to keep that a fun followup to this post complete with photos. What we really want to tell you about is Colin and Carson's visit to the downtown Seattle Library tomorrow to discuss their new artistic venture together. It will no doubt be entertaining as listening to either of them separately is adorable and charming.

However, seeing them together is doubly so... which typically doesn't happen but as evidenced by their short YouTube video below is completely true. The event is free tot he public, you just have to RSVP via Brown Paper Tickets so they know there will be enough space for everyone whom wants to participate. You can be we'll be right up front with camera (and book) in hand to see these two chat on what they're so excited about.
